Social justice imperative for harmonious society: Rana
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14- Exhorting the people to imbibe the spirit amity and brotherhood as professed by Guru Ravi Dassji, Provincial President National Conference Mr Devender Singh Rana on Friday said that harmonious growth of society is imperative to effectively counter the tendencies of intolerance, greed and hatred.
“Guruji has alighted the flame of love, compassion and righteousness for posterity to follow in order to make this world a better place to live in”, Mr Rana said while addressing a big congregation at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, held in connection with Jayanti of the great spiritual saint.
The Provincial President highlighted the preaching of Guruji and said all his life he worked for a society based on equality, social justice and harmony. “This spirit guided the humanity at a time when society was fragmented in bits and pieces and intolerance had taken over the logic and reason”, he said adding that the best way of observing these auspicious occasion is to fight the tendencies of division and disruption. He described Guruji as an epitome of reforms and classless society and said his tireless service to humanity will always serve as a beacon light to steer the people from darkness to light.
Mr Rana said that all the saints and seers have worked towards a progressive society based on love, affection and care for each other. “To achieve this, we must rise above the considerations of religion and caste and work for cementing the bonds of brotherhood and amity between various segments of society”, he added.
The Provincial President called upon the devotees to take a pledge for eschewing the tendencies of hatred and work for the upliftment and well being of poor and downtrodden people irrespective of their caste, region or religion. He said social equality is the only way to bring about peace and harmony in the society and hoped that the people will work towards creating an enlightened society where discrimination and disruption has no place.
He threw light on various facets of Guruji’s life and greeted the people on Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti.
