Omar inaugurates Qazigund Trauma Hospital
QAZIGUND, May 14- Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah  Thursday said that his dream is to ensure health security to people of Jammu and Kashmir living in villages, towns and cities by universalizing health care facilities and upgrading hospital service with specialized doctors and modern medical technology.

Inaugurating Rs. 12.89 crore Trauma Hospital at here, the Chief Minister said that his Government has flagged health sector as one of the most important sectors and steps were afoot to modernize it and extend adequate health care facilities to villages and remote areas.  

He said the manning of Government hospitals and health centres across the State is receiving priority attention of his Government and measures have been initiated to post doctors and para-medical staff adequately in these institutions so that patients receive the quality treatment.

Mr. Omar also referred to the development of other sectors of education, road communication, water and power supply and added that these sectors are also receiving special attention to upgrade basic amenities and open up cut off areas for economic prosperity and faster development.

The Chief Minister said that he wants the people to participate in policy planning of the development programmes in their areas, as such, he called upon them to take part in forthcoming Panchayat and Local Bodies elections and elect the representatives so that schemes are formulated and funds spent as per the requirement and wishes of the people of the area.

Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister of State for Health, Mr. Javaid Ahmad Dar, Legislators, Mr. Mohammad Amin Bhat and Mr. Altaf Ahmad Kaloo and former Minister Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Shah were present on the occasion among others.
